A villa contractor in Chile needed a reliable waterproofing solution for a newly built concrete swimming pool. The pool bottom, corners, steps, and joints required a continuous waterproof coating before the finishing work.
The contractor wanted to improve application efficiency and avoid the uneven coverage that could occur with conventional manual waterproofing methods.
YG supplied a polyurea spray machine configured for the customer’s two-component polyurea material.
Customer Challenge: Waterproofing a Concrete Pool
The concrete pool had several areas that required careful waterproofing:
- Large pool bottom area
- Corners and transitions
- Pool steps
- Construction joints
- Irregular concrete surfaces
The customer needed a fast and uniform pool waterproofing solution that could cover both large areas and difficult sections.
The main requirements were:
- Uniform coating coverage
- Reliable waterproof protection
- Efficient application
- Good coverage of corners and joints
- Reduced manual labor

YG Solution: Polyurea Spray Machine
Based on the project requirements, YG recommended a Polyurea Spray Machine for Pool Waterproofing.
Before spraying, the concrete surface was cleaned and properly prepared. The operator then used the machine to apply the two-component polyurea coating across the pool bottom and internal surfaces.
The spray gun made it possible to treat large areas efficiently while also reaching:
- Pool corners
- Steps
- Joints
- Surface transitions
This helped create a continuous polyurea waterproof coating over the prepared concrete surface.
Pool Waterproofing Application Process
1. Concrete Surface Preparation
The pool surface was cleaned and inspected to remove dust, loose particles, and other contaminants that could affect coating adhesion.
2. Equipment Setup
The polyurea spray machine was configured according to the customer’s material requirements and project conditions.
3. High-Pressure Spraying
Polyurea was sprayed onto the pool bottom and internal concrete surfaces. The operator adjusted the spray path to achieve consistent coverage around corners, steps, and joints.
4. Final Inspection
The finished surface was inspected for coating continuity and coverage before the next construction stage.

Project Results
The project achieved the customer’s main waterproofing requirements:
More Efficient Application
Spraying reduced repetitive manual coating work and shortened the application process.
Uniform Coverage
The spray system provided more consistent coverage across the pool surface.
Better Treatment of Complex Areas
Corners, steps, joints, and transitions could be treated efficiently.
Continuous Waterproof Layer
The completed polyurea waterproof coating formed a continuous protective layer over the prepared concrete surface.
Customer Feedback
The Chilean contractor was satisfied with the spraying efficiency and the coverage of difficult pool areas.
“The polyurea spray machine made the waterproofing work faster and easier. The coating was uniform, especially around the corners and difficult areas.”
The successful project also demonstrated the suitability of high-pressure polyurea spraying for concrete pool waterproofing.
